How do we know the Sabbath is not a day for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Christians do not observe the Sabbath as a specific day but rest in Christ's finished work.

In examining the Scriptures, particularly in Hebrews, we understand that there is no command for Christians to observe the Sabbath as a day, as was the case in the Old Testament. The early Christians began gathering on the first day of the week to celebrate the resurrection of Christ, not to fulfill a law-bound requirement. The emphasis is on spiritual rest in the finished work of Christ, which is established in Hebrews 4:9-10, illustrating that believers 'enter that rest' by ceasing their efforts to earn salvation. Observance of the Sabbath as a day was specific to the Israelites under the Old Covenant, and the Scriptures affirm that the Christian's rest is fundamentally about faith in Christ alone.
