How do we know the sacrifice of Christ is effective for our salvation?

Answered in 1 source

Christ's sacrifice is effective because it fulfills God's justice, securing forgiveness and righteousness for all who believe.

The effectiveness of Christ's sacrifice is grounded in the divine nature of His atonement. As presented in Exodus 12:13, God declared, 'When I see the blood, I will pass over you.' This promise indicates that the blood of Christ is an assurance of God's acceptance and favor. Additionally, Christ's sacrifice is called a 'sweet smelling savor' (Ephesians 5:2) to God, meaning it is wholly pleasing and sufficient. Unlike the shadows of Old Testament sacrifices, which could not take away sins, Christ's offering is complete, perfecting forever those who are sanctified. Therefore, through faith in His sacrifice, believers can rest assured that they are justified and secure in God's covenant of grace.
