How do we know the sovereignty of God in the new birth is true?

The Bible illustrates the sovereignty of the Holy Spirit in the new birth by emphasizing that no dead person can give themselves life or rise from the dead. As Jesus states in John 3:8, the Spirit acts according to His will, just as the wind blows wherever it pleases. For a person to accept the gospel, they must first be made spiritually alive by God's sovereign act.
