How do we know the success of a ministry?

Answered in 1 source

The success of a ministry is determined by the effectiveness of the Gospel proclaimed and the divine blessing that accompanies it.

According to Paul's teaching in 1 Thessalonians, the success of a ministry is a combination of God's sovereign purpose and the human instrument's character and actions. While divine election (1 Thessalonians 1:4) is foundational, the minister's faithfulness to boldly proclaim the Gospel amid suffering is crucial for recognizing a true and successful ministry. Hence, if a minister is genuinely empowered by the Holy Spirit and remains steadfast under opposition, the ministry will bear fruit in the lives of the recipients, demonstrating the genuine impact of the Gospel. A balance of divine sovereignty and human faithfulness is key to evaluating ministry success.
