How do we know the teachings of Jesus are true?

Answered in 3 sources

The truth of Jesus' teachings is supported by biblical prophecy and His fulfillment of those prophecies as the promised Messiah.

The veracity of Jesus' teachings can be understood through the prophetic Scriptures of the Old Testament that anticipate His coming and the establishment of His ministry. For instance, the prophecies in Isaiah regarding the Messiah's anointing to preach good news and to bind up the brokenhearted are realized in Jesus (Isaiah 61:1-4). Furthermore, the way Jesus contrasts the old covenant with His new covenant, as seen in the Sermon on the Mount, demonstrates His authority and divine purpose. By opening His mouth and teaching, He emphasizes that His words carry the full weight of divine revelation and truth, confirming that He is the mediator of a better covenant, as outlined in Hebrews 12.
