How do we know the time is short according to the Bible?

Answered in 2 sources

The Bible teaches that life is brief and uncertain, with verses highlighting the vapor-like nature of our existence.

James 4:14 asks, 'What is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.' This metaphor vividly illustrates the ephemeral nature of human life. Additionally, the frequency of declarations regarding the return of Christ in the Scriptures points to the urgency believers should feel regarding their time on earth. Paul urges believers to understand that Christ's return is imminent and that they must therefore act as if their time is limited to spread the gospel and prepare for eternity.
