How do we know the truth about the church?

Answered in 1 source

The truth about the church is grounded in Scripture, as it is the inspired word of God that defines it.

We discern the truth about the church through Scripture, which establishes the church as both the body of Christ and the community of believers. Jesus Himself declared, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life' (John 14:6), reaffirming that truth finds its foundation in Him and His teachings. Furthermore, in John 17:17, Jesus prayed for His followers to be sanctified by the truth, acknowledging that God's Word is definitive truth. Therefore, any church not founded on the truth of Scripture cannot rightly be considered a church.
