How do we know the truth of the Gospel is secure?

Answered in 1 source

The truth of the Gospel is secure because it is based on God's unchanging character and His promises.

The security of the Gospel's truth lies in the character of God, who cannot lie (Titus 1:2). John writes in 1 John 2:27 that the anointing we have from Him teaches us all things, and is true, and is no lie. The foundation of the Gospel is built on the work of Christ and His promises, which are 'yea' and 'amen' (2 Corinthians 1:20). Since these promises come from a God who is immutably true, we have confidence that the message of salvation through Christ is everlasting and secure. Thus, believers can rest assured that as long as they abide in Christ and hold to the teachings of the true Gospel, they are grounded in truth.
