How do we know the voice of God is true?

Answered in 2 sources

The voice of God is discerned through the experience of believers who, by the Holy Spirit, recognize His truth and witness its transforming power in their lives.

Believers come to know the voice of God as true through a deeply personal and transformative experience often referred to as being 'born again.' This rebirth grants them new ears to hear and hearts to respond to His voice. In John 12:23-30, Christ explains that His voice glorifies God and serves as a conduit for divine revelation. The evidence of hearing God's voice can be seen in the lives of believers who are changed by His message—experiencing forgiveness, hope, and strength through Christ. The distinction is clear: while the unregenerate may only experience God’s voice as noise, the redeemed hear His words as life-giving and soul-refreshing.
