How do we know the word of God is precious?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible declares the word of God as precious because it contains God's revelation and promises to His people.

In 1 Samuel 3, it states that the word of the Lord was precious in those days due to the scarcity of divine revelation. Even though the Word of God is always precious, its value is heightened in times of scarcity, similar to how a rare diamond is more valuable than a common stone. The written Word reveals the character, promises, and truths of God, which are essential for faith and understanding Him. For believers, this revelation is foundational as faith comes by hearing the Word of God, allowing them to grasp the grace on offer in Christ. The scarcity of prophetic voices in Samuel's time made the divine message exceptionally precious.
