How do we know true believers from false prophets?

Answered in 1 source

True believers produce good fruit while false prophets bear corrupt fruit.

According to Matthew 7:16-20, Jesus taught that you will know false prophets by their fruits. A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot produce good fruit. In Jude, the false teachers are likened to trees without fruit, 'twice dead, plucked up by the roots,' indicating that they are devoid of spiritual life. True believers, born again by the Spirit, exhibit the fruit of the Spirit in their lives, which includes love, joy, peace, and righteousness.
