How do we know true conversion is achieved?

Answered in 1 source

True conversion is marked by genuine humility and a child-like faith in God.

The markers of true conversion, as expressed in Matthew 18:1-14, profoundly illustrate that genuine humility is essential. One of the most evident signs of having received the Holy Spirit is the possession of a meek and childlike spirit. This humility manifests in the believer’s recognition of their limitations and an increased dependence on God as their Father. Additionally, true conversion is not simply a change of church affiliations or personal beliefs; it constitutes a deep-seated transformation from self-conceit to self-abasement, a move from pride to humility.

Moreover, examining our attitudes and behaviors in light of this humility can serve as a test for our conversion. A life that genuinely reflects the humility and trusting nature of a child indicates that the Holy Spirit is at work within us. Conversion is, therefore, a work that leads to a complete renewal of heart and mind, fostering a spirit that thrives on reliance upon God's grace.
