How do we know trust in Christ is essential for salvation?

Answered in 1 source

Trust in Christ is essential for salvation as it is through faith in Him that we receive salvation and assurance of eternal life.

The necessity of trusting Christ for salvation is rooted in the realization that we cannot save ourselves. The Father must teach us to trust in Christ, as highlighted in John 6:45, where it says that all people will be taught by God. David recognized this necessity when he stated that God has taught him to trust since his youth. Trusting Christ means recognizing His sufficiency and our own helplessness. It is through placing our faith in Him that we are saved, as Christ is the only one with the merit and power to bring salvation to our souls.
