How do we know we are among Jesus' sheep?

Answered in 4 sources

We know we are Jesus' sheep if we hear His voice, believe in Him, and follow Him, reflected in our desire for a relationship with Him.

In John 10:27, Jesus states, 'My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.' This indicates that true believers, His sheep, recognize the truth of His words and have a responsive heart to follow Him. Our faith is not merely an intellectual assent; it is a relational engagement with Christ, wherein the Holy Spirit enables us to believe and act in accordance with His will. The assurance of belonging to Christ is rooted not in personal merit but in His unchangeable promise and the transformative work of the Holy Spirit within us.
