How do we know we are among the elect of God?

Answered in 1 source

We know we are among the elect by recognizing the gift of repentance from sin and having faith in Jesus Christ.

Determining whether one is among the elect is rooted in the experience of true faith and repentance. A person who has been given the gift of repentance recognizes their sinfulness and genuinely turns to Christ in faith. This transformational encounter is evidenced by a heartfelt acknowledgment of sin and a desire for holiness. In the words of the preacher, the child of God admits guilt when confronted with sin, and precisely this acknowledgement coupled with faith in Christ assures them of their place among the elect. Romans 3:19 states that 'every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God,' yet the true believer finds their righteousness in Christ, thus demonstrating their election.
