How do we know we are approved of God?

Answered in 1 source

We know we are approved of God through our faith in Christ and by the witness of the Holy Spirit in our hearts.

The concept of being approved by God is crucial in the life of a believer. According to 1 Corinthians 11:18-19, divisions or heresies exist within the church so that those who are approved may be made evident. This approval is not a matter of public opinion or denominational acceptance; rather, it is an inward assurance given by the Holy Spirit. It reflects an understanding that our approval hinges on our belief in the Gospel, explicitly that Christ died for His elect and that our righteousness before God is found in Him alone. Romans 8:16 indicates that the Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, thus confirming our approval in the heavenly realm.
