How do we know we are blessed according to the Beatitudes?

Answered in 2 sources

We are blessed when we exhibit humility, mourn over sin, and seek righteousness, as outlined in the Beatitudes.

The Beatitudes provide a clear picture of what it means to be blessed by God. The first characteristic is being 'poor in spirit,' which leads to a sense of neediness before God, recognizing our spiritual bankruptcy without Christ. This humility causes one to mourn over their sins, as seen in verse 4, where it states that those who mourn will be comforted. The following Beatitudes emphasize qualities such as meekness, a thirst for righteousness, mercy, purity of heart, and being peacemakers. Blessings are not determined by worldly standards, but rather by these spiritual qualities that reflect God’s grace working in a believer's life. Thus, being blessed is less about circumstances and more about our inner spiritual state and relationship with God.
