How do we know we are called to love others as Christ loved us?

In John 13:35, Jesus clearly instructs that love for each other is the definitive evidence of discipleship. This command is rooted in the understanding that Christ loved His people selflessly, to the end. For Christians, this love should manifest in our relationships within the church and beyond, encouraging unity and serving one another. The depth of our love is an indicator of our relationship with Christ, reminding us that as He loved us sacrificially, we should also exhibit that same sacrificial love toward others.
