How do we know we are free from the dominion of the law?

Answered in 1 source

Believers are free from the dominion of the law because they have died with Christ, as described in Romans 7:1-4.

The freedom of believers from the dominion of the law is explicitly illustrated in Romans 7:1-4. Paul uses the analogy of a woman bound to her husband; as long as the husband lives, she is under his authority. However, if he dies, she is released from that law and is free to marry another. This signifies that through the death of Christ, believers are released from the law's condemnation and requirements. Christ fulfilled the law perfectly on their behalf, and through their union with Him, they experience a transformative relationship characterized by grace. Thus, they are no longer held captive by the law but are empowered to live righteously as they walk in the Spirit.
