How do we know we are God's people?

Answered in 1 source

We know we are God's people because we believe in Christ, which is a result of God's choice and grace.

The scriptures clearly outline that being one of God's people is not contingent upon our belief but is rooted in God's choice. As stated in John 6:37, all that the Father gives to the Son will come to Him, indicating that belief is a response to being chosen. Each individual who believes does so because they are part of God's elect, as affirmed by Ephesians 1:4. Consequently, our assurance as God's people is not based on our faithfulness alone, but on God's sovereign grace that calls us into faith.
