How do we know we are in the faith?

Answered in 3 sources

We know we are in the faith by believing in the truth of the gospel and recognizing our sinfulness (Romans 10:9).

Being in the faith means that we accept the gospel as the true message of salvation, recognizing that we are sinners who cannot save ourselves. As Paul states, faith is not merely a personal conviction but is grounded in the truth of what God has revealed about our condition and His redemptive work through Christ. It involves a belief in the gospel where we acknowledge Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior who died for our sins, and understanding that salvation is not dependent on our ability but solely on His grace. Hence, knowing we are in the faith comes from a heart that trusts these truths, as well as an ongoing reliance on God’s Word and the Holy Spirit’s guidance.
