How do we know we are in the family of God?

To be in the family of God, one must believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as indicated in Matthew 12:50, where Jesus describes His true family as those who do the will of His Father in heaven. This act of belief is a direct response to the faith that God has graciously given to His people. Every believer is assured of their position in God’s family by trusting in Christ's intentions to save and keep them.
