How do we know we are justified before God?

Answered in 5 sources

We are justified before God solely through the finished work of Jesus Christ, apart from any works of our own.

Justification before God is a foundational doctrine in Reformed theology that emphasizes grace and faith. According to Romans 3:28, we hold that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the Law. This means that our righteous standing before God does not depend on our actions or merits but solely on the merit of Christ’s perfect obedience and sacrificial death on the cross. It is by God's grace alone that we are clothed in the righteousness of Christ, as affirmed in Philippians 3:9. Ultimately, our assurance lies not in ourselves but in Jesus, who is our righteousness and mediator before God.
