How do we know we are of God?

We know we are of God if we hear and respond to His Word, and if we exhibit love for one another.

1 John 4:6 distinguishes between those who are of God and those who are not by their response to the truth of the gospel. Believers, characterized by their love for one another, demonstrate their new birth from God. This love is a clear indicator of our relationship with God, affirming that everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. As a result, our love for others becomes a testament to our belonging to Him.
