How do we know we are overcomers in Christ?

Answered in 1 source

Believers are overcomers because they are united with Christ, who has overcome sin, death, and the world.

In John 16:33, Jesus declares, 'I have overcome the world,' emphasizing that He is the ultimate overcomer. Believers, being united with Christ, share in this victory. 1 John 5:4 further clarifies that those born of God overcome the world through their faith, which is fundamentally rooted in Christ's faith and faithfulness. This means that the assurance of being an overcomer does not stem from personal achievements but from the realization that our status as overcomers is granted by our union with Christ, who has conquered all adversities on our behalf.
