How do we know we are part of God's chosen people?

Answered in 4 sources

Being part of God's chosen people is known through the internal call of the Holy Spirit and the fruit of faith in our lives.

Assurance of being part of God's chosen people comes through both the witness of the Spirit and observable characteristics of faith. Romans 8:30 states that those whom God predestined, He also called, justified, and glorified. This process confirms one's place among the elect, as genuine faith will lead to spiritual growth and transformation. Additionally, believers experience the internal call of the Holy Spirit, affirming their identity in Christ and empowering them to live according to His will. The result will be a life marked by love for others and a desire to honor God, as outlined in 1 John 3:14, which states that 'we know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren.' Thus, both faith and the assurance given by the Holy Spirit serve as signs of one's election.
