How do we know we are part of God's people?

Answered in 3 sources

Believers know they are part of God's people because they have been born again by the Spirit and believe in Christ.

The assurance of being part of God's people comes from the transformative work of the Holy Spirit, as outlined in 1 Peter 2:9-10. Believers are born anew by the incorruptible seed of God's Word and brought to faith in Jesus Christ. Peter states that those who were once not a people are now a people—indicative of the regeneration and faith that defines God's elect. This knowledge is not based on human actions but on the divine calling and effectual grace granted to them by God.
