How do we know we are part of God's true people?

Answered in 2 sources

We know we are part of God's true people by worshipping Him in spirit and rejoicing in Christ Jesus, not putting trust in our own flesh.

According to Philippians 3:3, true believers are marked by three characteristics: they worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh. This spiritual circumspection reflects an inner transformation wrought by grace rather than mere outward adherence to religious practices. The evidence of being a true child of God is expressed in heartfelt worship, a deep-seated joy found in Christ alone, and a rejection of any reliance on personal merit or religious rituals for salvation. The authenticity of faith is highlighted through genuine love for Christ and reliance on His work for redemption, showcasing God's sovereign grace that calls us into fellowship with Him.
