We know we are part of the elect if we believe in Jesus Christ and love His words, as this faith is a gift from God.
Belief in Jesus Christ as the Son of God indicates that one is among the elect. Jesus tells Judas that if anyone loves Him, they will keep His words (John 14:23). This keeping of His words is a manifestation of love that stems from a heart that God has transformed. In Matthew 16:17, Jesus affirms that such revelation is granted by the Father. Therefore, if you have faith in Christ and a love for His teachings, you can be assured of your election, as this love and faith are evidence of God's saving work in you.
