How do we know we are part of the Israel of God?

Answered in 2 sources

We know we are part of the Israel of God through faith, as those who walk according to the Spirit and believe the gospel (Galatians 6:16).

The true Israel of God consists not of a physical lineage but of those who have faith like Abraham. Galatians 6:16 indicates that peace and mercy are upon the Israel of God, implying that those who trust in Christ and are responsive to His call are numbered among His people. This faith manifests itself in actively walking in accordance with God's Word, which is the evidence of being redeemed and made part of this spiritual Israel. The distinction is clear: it's not just about heritage but about believing the gospel and living in accordance with it. As Romans 8:1 declares, there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus—this assurance is central to knowing we are among God's chosen.
