How do we know we are righteous in Christ?

Answered in 2 sources

We are declared righteous in Christ because he took our sin upon himself, providing us with his perfect righteousness.

The assurance of our righteousness in Christ stems from the profound truth that Jesus Christ, our Redeemer, actively took on our sins, allowing us to be identified with him. In this union with Christ, believers are clothed in his righteousness, which far exceeds our own flawed attempts at merit. This is a central tenet of Reformed theology, emphasizing that our standing before God is not based on our works but solely on Christ's perfect obedience and sacrifice. Scripture reassures us that because of our position in Christ, we are viewed as having 'spotless garments', wholly freed from the guilt of sin in God's sight, making us perfectly righteous.
