How do we know we are sheep and not goats?

Answered in 1 source

We know we are sheep by the grace of God, which leads us to live righteously and show love to others.

The distinction between sheep and goats is not determined by outward appearances or religious practices but by the inward transformation brought about by God's grace. Those who have received the new birth, a work of the Holy Spirit, will naturally manifest fruits of righteousness such as compassion and care for others, as reflected in their actions toward those in need. This is supported by verses 34-40 in Matthew 25, where the King affirms that our service to others is directly linked to our service to Him. True believers possess a genuine faith that expresses itself in love and good works, affirming their identity as sheep.
