How do we know we are spiritually alive in Christ?

The evidence of spiritual life is often characterized by a deep awareness of our sinfulness and a genuine cry for God's mercy, as seen in Luke 18:13, 'God be merciful to me, a sinner.' This heartfelt plea indicates the Holy Spirit's work in our souls, leading us from spiritual death to life. According to Ephesians 2:1, we were dead in trespasses and sins, but if we have been quickened or made alive in Christ, we will see changes in our desires and motivations. True believers cannot simply rely on outward actions of religion; there must be an inner transformation that aligns with God's will and a desire to follow Christ.
