How do we know we are spiritually weak?

Answered in 1 source

We recognize our spiritual weakness through personal experiences of trial, reflection on our own heart, and reliance on Christ for strength.

Awareness of our spiritual weakness comes not just from theoretical understanding but from the Lord's active work in our lives. As believers navigate through various trials and tribulations, whether they be hardships or seasons of prosperity, they are taught the depth of their inability to uphold righteousness on their own. The Lord may employ difficulties—such as loss, adversity, or internal struggles—to plow up our pride and reveal the fallen nature within. This process leads the faithful to a deeper understanding of their need for Christ as their sole strength and keeper, culminating in a confession of their dependence on Him day by day. Testimonies from saints throughout history affirm that as we confront our weaknesses, we are driven closer to Christ, acknowledging Him as our wisdom and righteousness.
