How do we know we can trust in God's righteousness?

Answered in 1 source

God's righteousness is guaranteed through the perfect obedience and sacrifice of Jesus Christ, our advocate (2 Corinthians 5:21).

We trust in God's righteousness because it is grounded in the finished work of Christ. As stated in 2 Corinthians 5:21, 'For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.' This illustrates that our righteousness before God is not based on our efforts but rather on the perfect obedience of Christ. Through His atonement, believers are covered by His righteousness, allowing us to access the strong tower where we are secure. Every believer, born again by the Spirit, is granted this divine righteousness, which provides assurance of salvation and eternal security in God's presence.
