How do we know we have an inheritance in heaven?

Scripture confirms that believers have a promise of an inheritance that is incorruptible and reserved in heaven (1 Peter 1:4). This inheritance is not physical possessions in this world but spiritual blessings in Christ. As Abraham lived as a sojourner, recognizing that his true home was elsewhere (Hebrews 11:10), believers today are taught to set their minds on things above (Colossians 3:2). The certainty of this inheritance is secured by God’s electing grace and the resurrection of Jesus, which guarantees that believers will be with Him forever.
