How do we know we have the Spirit of God in us?

Answered in 1 source

We know we have the Spirit of God in us if we exhibit a spiritual mindset and acknowledge Jesus Christ, as the Spirit bears witness with our spirit.

In Romans 8, Paul indicates that the presence of the Spirit of God in believers is crucial for their identity as children of God. He states that if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him. The Holy Spirit bears witness with our spirit, affirming that we are indeed children of God. This inner testimony from the Spirit creates a deep assurance within believers, leading them to cry out 'Abba, Father.' Additionally, those who live in accordance with the Spirit will demonstrate a mindset and life that reflects the things of the Spirit—characteristics such as love, peace, and obedience to the law of God. Therefore, the evidence of having the Spirit can often be seen in one's faith and actions that align with God's Word.
