How do we know we should be encouragers as Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Christ modeled encouragement and gentleness, teaching us to see the good in others rather than their shortcomings.

The practice of encouragement is deeply rooted in Christ's example. He embodied compassion and gentleness, always seeking out the potential for good in others, even in those who had faltered. This mirrors the teaching in Philippians 4:8 and reflects the belief that as followers of Christ, we are called to cultivate the best in one another. By focusing on and commending the virtues in others, we help build them up, just as Christ does.
