How do we know we should flee to Christ for salvation?

Answered in 1 source

Scripture encourages us to flee to Christ quickly when convicted of sin, as He is our only source of salvation.

The call to flee to Christ comes from the understanding that self-atonement leads only to weariness and despair. When we are confronted with our sins, we are urged to agree with God about our iniquities and seek that cleansing Him right away. For in turning to Christ, who fulfills the demands of God's righteousness for us, we find forgiveness, peace, and restoration. Through passages such as Matthew 5:25-26, we see the urgency of reconciling with God while there is still time. Christ is the answer to our heavy burdens, and it is only in His grace that we can find true relief from our guilt and shame.
