How do we know who the redeemed of the Lord are?

Answered in 1 source

The redeemed are specifically those loved by God eternally, known as His elect.

Scripture defines the redeemed as those whom God has loved everlastingly, as seen in Jeremiah 31:3 and Romans 5:8. They are not a general mass but a specific group known to God, referred to as God's elect (Romans 8:33). These people include all who are ordained to eternal life (Acts 13:48) and whose faith is a gift from God, confirmed by their belief and trust in Christ. This specificity is crucial, as it affirms God's sovereign grace and the idea that redemption was not intended for all universally but for a chosen people.
