How do we know who the sheep are?

Answered in 1 source

The sheep are identified by their faith, the blessings of election and redemption, and their love for Christ and one another (John 10:27).

The true sheep of Christ are known by several attributes that reflect their status as the elect. First, they are blessed, as indicated in Matthew 25:34, where they are called 'blessed of my Father.' They have been chosen and redeemed by the blood of Christ, thus making their inheritance assured (Ephesians 1:3-7). Furthermore, the sheep hear Christ's voice and follow Him, signifying their genuine faith and relationship with the Shepherd (John 10:27). Their love for one another and their willingness to serve Christ by serving others underscore their identity. If someone lacks faith or love for the brethren, they cannot be counted among His sheep.
