How do we know works are evidence of faith?

Answered in 1 source

Works demonstrate true faith and are evidence of it, as illustrated in James 2:21-22.

In James 2:21-22, it's emphasized that Abraham's willingness to offer Isaac as a sacrifice proved the genuineness of his faith. While he was justified by faith before God, this act of obedience manifested his faith before others. The good works that believers do are not the means of justification but are evidence of the faith that God has granted them. They serve to show that their faith is alive and active, thereby justifying their faith as being true and authentic.
