How do we labor to enter into God's rest?

Answered in 2 sources

We labor to enter God's rest by ceasing from our works and placing our trust in the sufficiency of Christ's sacrifice.

Laboring to enter into God's rest involves the intentional act of letting go of our self-reliance and religious deeds. Hebrews 4 encourages believers to fear lest we fall short of this rest due to unbelief, reminding us that sin has already been paid for by Christ's sacrifice. This 'labor' is not about works but rather about recognizing our own helplessness and relying entirely on Jesus' finished work for our salvation. By submitting to Him and resting in His grace, we find true peace for our souls, as we are no longer striving against the terms of the law but enjoying the benefits of Christ's perfect obedience on our behalf.
