How do we practice kindness in our speech as Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Christians are called to be kind in speech by ensuring that their words uplift rather than harm others.

In accordance with James's teachings, Christians should adhere to a threefold rule when considering what to say about others: Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary? This approach encourages believers to think carefully about their words and the impact they have on others. Kindness in speech aligns with the royal law of loving your neighbor as yourself (James 2:8). Our words should reflect the love and mercy we have received from Christ, promoting peace and understanding rather than division. The fruit of our speech should be gracious, aiming to build up rather than tear down.
