How do we receive the gift of salvation?

Answered in 1 source

We receive salvation through faith in Christ, which is both a gift from God and a response required from us.

Receiving the gift of salvation entails both God’s sovereign work and our willing response to His call. John 1:12 states that to all who received Him, He gave the right to become children of God. This reception is a work of the Spirit, who regenerates our hearts to believe and repent. Though we must actively come to Christ, it is indeed God who empowers and draws us to Himself. Therefore, while faith and repentance are our responses, they are ultimately enabled by God's grace, ensuring that our salvation glorifies Him alone.
