How do we receive the Holy Spirit?

Answered in 1 source

The Holy Spirit is received through faith in Jesus Christ (Romans 8:9).

Romans 8:9 explains that those who belong to Christ have the Spirit of God dwelling in them, indicating that the reception of the Holy Spirit is intrinsically linked to faith in Jesus. When individuals place their trust in Christ for salvation, they are regenerated by the Holy Spirit, who comes to dwell within them. This is part of the New Covenant promise, whereby God gives His people a new heart and puts His Spirit within them to empower and guide them in their spiritual walk. Therefore, believing in Jesus and acknowledging Him as Lord and Savior is foundational for receiving the Holy Spirit.
