How do we receive the witness of God about His Son, Jesus?

Answered in 1 source

We receive God's witness of Jesus through faith in the gospel as preached by His appointed messengers.

The witness of God concerning His Son is greater than any human testimony (1 John 5:9). It is through the gospel proclaimed by faithful preachers that we come to understand and believe in the identity and work of Jesus Christ. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17). This means that when we engage with the gospel message, we are experiencing the divine revelation that God provides regarding who Jesus is as the Savior and the eternal life found in Him. The Holy Spirit also plays a crucial role in this process, illuminating the truth of Christ to our hearts and enabling us to receive and act upon that witness.
