How do we recognize God's elect in the church?

Answered in 1 source

God's elect can be recognized by their response to the gospel and their hunger for spiritual truth.

The Scriptures reveal that the elect are those whom God has chosen for salvation, and they respond to the gospel with belief and an evident hunger for God's truth. As Paul notes in 1 Thessalonians 1:5, the gospel comes in power and the Holy Spirit, leading to a transformed life that seeks after Christ. A desire for the truth, evidenced by a willingness to embrace the gospel message, serves as an indicator of one's election. The community of faith can observe this working of grace in the lives of believers as they grow in understanding and the practice of their faith.
