How do we reconcile our need for holiness with the reality of our sinfulness?

Answered in 1 source

While we strive for holiness, we recognize that true righteousness comes from Christ alone, and our sinfulness reminds us of our reliance on grace.

The call to holiness is essential for believers as we seek to reflect Christ's character in our lives. However, we must balance this with the understanding that all our righteousness is as filthy rags without Christ (Isaiah 64:6). Our sinfulness does not disqualify us from God's grace; instead, it leads us to acknowledge our utter dependence on His mercy and forgiveness. Through the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit, we are empowered to pursue holiness while remaining humble and aware that it is Christ's righteousness that sustains us. Our growth in holiness happens as we rest in His completion of our salvation.
