How do we resist the devil effectively?

Answered in 1 source

We resist the devil by standing firm in our faith and relying on the Word of God (1 Peter 5:9).

To effectively resist the devil, believers must be steadfast in their faith. Peter instructs us in 1 Peter 5:9 to resist the adversary through our faith—not by engaging in arguments or disputes, but by remaining anchored in the Word of God. Our Lord exemplified this when confronted by Satan during His temptations, consistently responding with Scripture. Thus, having a solid grounding in God's Word fortifies our faith and empowers us to withstand the attacks of the enemy. Additionally, recognizing that we are not alone in our struggles can encourage steadfastness, as other believers also experience similar afflictions.
